About Choice
Why commercials?
- Everywhere i go in this big city, everyday, with every step i make forward, i go by a huge number of posters, banners, words written in large letters on attractive backgrouds, shops, newspapers, magazines… and so on. Altough i got used to their most and i almost ignore them, there are many more that catch my innocent eyes. All of them have a special name. They are named “COMMERCIALS”!
- In English, you can call them as i mentioned – “Commercials”, in French, you say to them – “Publicité”, in Romanian is called – “Reclame”, in Russian – “Реклама”, and in Italian – “Pubblicità”. They all mean the same thing.
- Trying to give them a definition, searching through Google, i found the following similarities (on this website: http://www.thefreedictionary.com ) :

a. Of or relating to commerce: a commercial loan; a commercial attaché.
b. Engaged in commerce: a commercial trucker.
c. Involved in work that is intended for the mass market: a commercial artist.
2. Of, relating to, or being goods, often unrefined, produced and distributed in large quantities for use by industry.
3. Having profit as a chief aim: a commercial book, not a scholarly tome.
4. Sponsored by an advertiser or supported by advertising: commercial television.
- If i could write a definition for “Commercials”, it would be the following: “Commercials are those annoying spots on television that appear every time when the moovie you watch is in the middle of the action. Commercials are those refreshing memory images that remind you with a month before about the most important events during one year, and about the money you are going to spend on ghifts. Commercials are also those unique moments when you realise that there is always a solution to your problem. They have the solution. Commercials are the ones that educate your behaviour. They tell you what to dress with, where to go when you want to buy something or when you have a business meeting or just a friends reunion. Commercials make you feel you have a place where you belong and where it’s safe. Commercials are those sweet flash images that remind you that when you want to eat some chocolate, you know that the nearest store has it
“Why my life?
- I am going to write about my life because i can’t write about other’s life… i mean, how could i possibly know what is going on in other person’s minds… how could i know their intentions or their hidden desires unless i’m a fortune teller, or unless they tell me. So here i can express my sincere thoughts about the world we live in and about the commercials we can’t leave without, although some of us would certainly wish for that kind of life. But opinions are divided.
